Runny poo/liquid like

Pig info: Boy 10 weeks old, he has eaten in the past week pellets, hay, carrots, a little celery, apples and green beans.
I was cleaning them out today and then had a wee cuddle with them and I noticed that Dingo had some runny poo on his fur then bubbles started to come out of his bum and there was runny poo all over the towel. He is still eating and running around and seem quite happy.
This is the first time I have had Guinea Pigs since I was little so I am a bit worried.
What should I do?
 
I would advise you to phone the vet - you will most probably need to take hm in as runny poo in little ones is very serious and he will likely need antibiotics asap - please don't delay waiting for answers on the forum. Your piggy needs treatment quickly.

Thanks for the advice. After I posted I phoned the vet. He gave him an injection and gave me stuff to give him. He also treated his brother as his poo was a little soft. Sadly Dingo died this morning.
 
I'm so sorry for your loss, I was wondering why the vet was treating the other pig and what drug is he on?
 
The other piggie's poo was a little soft. Baytril Oral solution. I'm not sure what he injected them with. How long should I leave it to introduce a new cage made and would it be ok to get an older rescue piggie?
 
I would maybe wait until the piggy is completely better to find another friend, just so no extra stress is put on them (even though it is a new friend, its a strange new pig).
Is the piggy a little boy or girl? If a boy an older rescue boar would be great, you can always take them along for dating.
 
This sounds like a serious infection ahs broke out in your cage- serious enough to kill a yound pup. My boar Theo had bad runny poo and I tell no word of a lie its took over two months before he was back a his maintanence weight. He was so fragile and the day I got normal poops consistantly was two- three weeks after it started. The sheer happiness from a poo was hilarious.
His weight dropped dramitically and he needed round the clock syringe feeeding, probiotic vitamin c and septrin. He was very very poorly but he pulled through so whatever it is it must be very really quite serious!
Please dont get another piggie until you know for sure the issue has been dealt with.
Also I was told by my vet not to feed any vegetables until the poo is firm and gradually increase starting with very very bland vegggies, like cucmber and green pepper, just thin slices and work up from that. Feed lots of quality fibrous hay and unlimited nuggets.

Are you weighing the piggie?

If you would like some further advice please just ask. There is an open evening tonight for a rescue in cnetral Scotland at apex vets- look on their websit for further details. When your little one is ready and well the rescue would happily try and find him a perfect friend. The sspca unfortunatly no very little about bonding and the rescue is much more experienced in finding you a stable bond.

Please make sure that your remaining piggy is completely fit and healthy again before finding him a friend. Diarrhea is a serious condition and - as you have experienced - it can kill very quickly.

It would be good if you weighed your remaining boy daily instead of weekly, as recommended for healthy piggies. You can help him by adding a pinch of probiotics to his food to keep the guts going. Don't feed any fresh food until the his guts have stablised, just unlimited hay. You can also offer mushed good quality pellets. Make sure that your boy is hydrated.
(Probiotics you can get from your vet or over the internet; some pet shops may have them in pinch.)

If he is still losing weight, you may have to think about hand feeding him.

Boogie the remaining pup's poo was only a little soft. His poo appears to be fully formed and hard. He has been eating hay and nuggets loads and he is drinking and running around like usual. I weigh him on sunday but I will start doing it every day. I will leave it till he is back to normal to get a new cage mate.
I was wondering what could of caused it, as they both seemed to be fine till sunday.

DO you own any other animals by any chance?
 
I reckon my Theo picked up his bug from the dog, but he actually licks her, I dont imagine you cats have much to do with the piggies he he!
