Rupert has been eating and drinking as normal. I give him metacam and Gabapentin as he has issues with walking and these medicines may reduce pain.
Twice a day I have Rupert out for long lap times whilst I give him medicines food and water.
However on Saturday I noticed his willy was swollen and looked like a few poorly inflated balloons. Sorry I cannot upload any photos
He did not pee at all after I had him on my knee for over an hour, which is most unusual as he normally wees a lot
On Sunday I again watched him for over an hour. I put kitchen paper which would clearly show urine. Again there was none.
I took him to emergency exotic vet on Sunday who said he hadn't seen anything like it before., Rupert had a scan but no stones were detected but vet said they possibly may not be picked up on a scan.
He said Rupert may have an infection and he was prescribed Septrin. The vet said if things did not improve he would have to take x-rays.
Today Rupert has not produced any urine.
I have found an old thread on this Forum where someone has said it could be congealed boar glue.
I am taking Rupert back to vet tomorrow morning.
Has anyone got any experience of a guinea pig not peeing because of boar glue.

Hi Val - so sorry to hear about Rupert.
How does his willy look today? Did the vet fully extrude it?
When my boys have had sperm rods (which to be honest is rare) they have walked a bit like John Wayne and looked uncomfortable but it has not stopped peeing but I imagine it could do.
When Sudoku was in his last weeks with probably Kidney failure, he had 2 separate very stressful days when he stopped weeing - the only things that got him to wee again was warmth and lots of pain killers - relaxing muscles? He was xrayed for stones but didn't have any at that point so it may not be that.
@pig in the city - any thoughts?

Hi Laura
Rupert still hasn't peed all day today.
Mark did not extrude Rupert's penis. He tried but Rupert squealed loudly so he stopped. Rupert had not been straining to wee. There was no blood in his urine.
He has impaction problems which I deal with twice daily at least. He is eating and drinking and pooping as usual.
I have found an old thread I think it was under guinea pigs swollen penis. There is a suggestion from Pebble that blockage may be caused by boar glew. I must admit I have not cleared Rupert for sometime as after his last treatment at vets earlier this year Rupert came back with a cauliflower willy and I could not extrude his penis as I could before.
I know he's had sperm rods before though.
He's by myside now on a lap pad and kitchen roll. Still not peeing. I don't think I'll give him more water as I am worried about his bladder. But I will give him lettuce and cucumber to hydrate him
Any ideas? I have started conversation with @pig in the city
Thanks
Val

Thanks for the advice @pig in the city
Rupert saw vet today. X rays taken no sign of stones, but the xray showed some signs of calcium build up. So the vet inserted a catheter in Rupert's penis to flush it out.
I have been advised to keep giving him metacam and septrin. But if he still has problems urinating then he'll have to go back to vets for injections to relax muscles.
I hope it doesn't have to come to that.
Rupert has eaten and pooped but as yet no wee,
