Is your vet doing the flushing? How often?
An abscess needs to heal from the inside and will continue to fill with pus, which needs to be removed. Does it look swollen? The vet hasn't mentioned flushing as an option. Maybe it's because he squeezed the abscesses as he couldn't operate to remove them as too near Rupert's anus.
That would make more sense with the treatment he has had - so it is not a conventional abscess with pus in it, it was a trichofolliculoma with 'matter' in it? I still prefer lump :0) I know that if it had been a conventional abscess, your vet would have been recommending daily flushing and probably marbocyl because that is what he has done for my lot when required. When are you back for a check up?I think you are right @lauraboara it is me that is referring to it as an abscess because of the pus that came out, It was the vet who referred to it as trichofolliculoma.
I got the receptionist to give me correct spelling before I left the surgery.
@furryfriends (TEAS) His bottom still looks swollen, But as he is sat next to me there are a lot of small individual poops emerging.
