I have a one-year-old sow who goes through stages of doing really enormous/wierd shaped droppings. They are a little soft, sometimes up to an inch long and quite wide. This seems to go on for between a few days and a week and then they are normal again for a few weeks. I have kept a diary and can find no link to any food. She lives with two other sows who have normal droppings. She has both meadow hay and timothy hay at all times, and Excel and Oxbow Cavy Cuisine pellets. She has a variety of vegetables and a good handful of grass each day. She is wormed every 3 months. I have tried probiotics in her water but this makes no difference.
Has anyone any ideas what could be causing this or ever had the same happen to one of their guineas please?

Does Ruth show any signs of illness or distress when her droppings change in shape. It sounds as though she has a pretty good diet.
