I have been getting my hay from a local farm and went to get another bin liner full today.
I usually speak to the farmer's wife but she wasn't there today and so dealt with the farmer himself. I ended up buying a bale. It's such good stuff as all the other places i have had it from it has been damp and mouldy! He said local race horses are fed on their hay as it's such high fibre but he warned me not to give too much to my bunnys and piggys. I have been getting it from his wife for the last 6 bin liners full and use it as bedding so they're constantly eating it.
Now I'm a little worried it's too rich for them. It's got timothy hay in it and is much like the burgess stuff they have as treats only £8 a bale!
He also asked me, when I said it was for my bunnys, whether they were for meat or as pets! Apparantly a supplier of pets at home use it for their animals...
