Dougal lost his wifey pig 6 weeks ago. I thought he would pick up after he had got over the shock but I am concerned about him. He lost weight and and has not regained it. He will eat fresh foods and treats but doesn't have much appetite for his nuggets. I have tried different brands but his reaction is the same. He doesn't have dental probs, the lack of appetite started after Lill died. WHen he goes outside he spends most of the day just sitting in one spot, the same when he is in his crate. I have been looking for another girlie pig for him but have been unable to find any rescues up here. I don't want to buy from a pet shop. We are on Anglesey but can travel a reasonable distance. Does anyone know of a girl piggie, please?
 
Have you checked the rescue locator on the forum? I think it is vital that he finds a friend as soon as possible. Hopefully someone will be able to help. When you say a reasonable distance, how far do you mean? Could you get to Glynneath?

Glynneath is South Wales, we are North Wales. Its too far for us - 6 hour drive each way.
 
It does sound as if he is pining :( Rescues are best but you have to put your piggie first so may need to explore other avenues if you can't realistically get to a rescue. How old is Dougal?
