Junior Guinea Pig
Hi all
A few weeks ago my boy Dylan had to visit a rodentologist and vets for a dental due to loss of appetite, which he perked up from afterwards. However he went back down to 800g, and not eating unless persuaded again. The rodentologist found a lump in his left side, which is clearly the most likely reason for him not eating, but now I am left with a dilemma:
He's only two, but he's so underweight and the lump doesn't feel like a simple cyst, his chances of surviving a labotomy aren't good. If he gets his weight up, there is a better chance he will make it, but obviously the lump may still be too bad to take out cleanly. Do I just keep syrynge feeding him until the inevitable happens, or do I risk the op?
What would you guys do?
Thanks, he's such a funny little pig
