Yes she has a friend & she was quiet the first couple of days, they both were then she seemed a lot brighter & the last few days she has been quiet again. There's nothing I can do about it as she has a friend, they were a trio, but I am worried about her :( Thank you for the hugs, it's incredible how much such little creatures can touch our lives like they do & it's nice that we can all talk to one another & not feel silly about it as we all understand how much we love our piggies xx

Bless her, I am sure she will pick up. They just need time, like us I guess? You are right re support. This forum keeps me sane. When the grief comes in waves, as it does, it gives you strength to know others understand. The one thing that has shocked me about piggies is how they get to the very core of you. They give you the happiest times but also the most painful times. x

Yes they do indeed :) I hope you are ok, make sure you look after yourself too xx

Thank you, just had mega double cuddles (two cuddly guineas in one go). They usually bicker and fight for the under the chin top spot. But tonight they laid happily together on my chest and I think would have stayed their all night, given the chance. They are a great comfort. You too, be strong :-) xx

I am so sorry Lawz for your loss.

I hope so, thank you x

Thank you, it never gets easy. Try not to torture yourself of the what ifs….just hold onto thought that she's now absolutely fine and healthy and having a ball!

When i had my last dog pts (he had hip displacia) and managed to 10 years of age with it. Before we left house he had a mouthful of his biscuits, a drink of water and got his lead of the hook (despite him struggling to walk), like he was saying right lets do this mum I'm ready.
Its heartbreaking at best of times, but you have to think your letting them go with some dignity.
I couldn't have beared it if ide let prince get to point where he couldn't walk, as that would have distressed him further and he was at point where nothing else could have been done.

Honestly chin up, take each day as it comes and go through the motions….give your other piggies extra huggles x

Thank you Lawz.
Your dog sounds amazing. That is such a sweet story. I think you are in a no win position whatever you do, you feel guilty if you let things go on too long but feel guilty and unsure when you make the decision like we both did. It just hurts like hell..end of.

My mother has a friend whose dog is very old, incontinent and suffering badly, she just cannot make that decision even though its the right one to make. Its got to be the hardest thing to do. She is on her own and will be distraught when it happens.

I know its the right thing just hurts like hell and I still keep questioning myself...its crazy.

She was cremated this morning and now at peace in her own little casket in my wardrobe, wrapped in silk with the others.

Rest in peace all our beautiful babies xx
