An update on my earlier post called Lonely Guinea Pig.
My poor little pig died. just one day after he lost his rabbit friend he seemed to go down hilll. Stopped eating and drinking and then I found blood in his wee. We took him to the vets and she said it was probably cystitis brought on by stress of losing his rabbit friend. He was put on antibiotics and vitamin c tabs and science recovery. I really thought that he was going to get better, he seemed a little bit chirpier the next day, but sadly this morning he was not good, would not eat anything and was looking very shaky and passed away this morning. It is so sad because he was perfectly healthy up until he lost his rabbit friend. I even rang the RSPCA as suggested by others on this forum and enquired if we could possibly have a friend for him. They told us that he would have to be neutered before they would let him be pared up with one of their girls. So even though we trlied to change things it just did not work out. I can not believe he has gone so quickly. In just a month I have lost my faithful old dog Daisy, my rabbit and now the guinea pig.
