So we had a heartbreaking day few days ago. We sent baby Bandit( lil one with brown face white body) over the rainbow this was so unexpected. We are very sad that she or he passed away. It was a total accident we have a one year old that's walking and they are fine and not left unattended when roaming the house (floor time). Well my lil one tripped over a ball and fell onto Baby Bandit 😥😭😭😭

Sure was I was very sad I didn't get mad at my one year old son it's not his fault he's still bit wobbly and his ball was in the way.

I don't blame my son. I do blame myself a bit I turned a quick second to get more veggies and then I heard squeak n my son crying

I‘m so sorry. Don’t blame yourself, you had no idea that that was going to happen.

I am so sorry to read that you lost your little one in such horrible circumstances. Accidents are what they are accident , so take it easy on yourself. So very sorry, massive hugs x

sleep well little one

RIP Bandit
x x

Just wish I could of helped Bandit cheat death once more..... Bandit was the baby I saved from dying at birth.

So sorry for your loss, what an upsetting accident to happen. Hopefully your little boy isn't too upset.

I notice in your post you're not sure if baby Bandit was a boy or a girl and remember your earlier post where you asked about sexing. I know it's an upsetting time at the moment, but it is really important to sex your pigs as the babies are 3 months old now. If any of them are males, it's extremely likely that the mothers will be pregnant again and you should expect some more babies.

Sorry to hear about Bandit. Accidents DO happen. Sadly, it's a fact of life. I think there's always a risk with (even older) children and animals. Animals can move too quickly or jump from their arms.

Sending you big hugs x

Also, I agree with @AMMAH regarding sexing those babies to prevent more babies!

So very sorry to hear you lost Bandit this way.
Unfortunately accidents do happen and it really was no-on’s fault.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve

So I know snowball is in fact a female. Bandit I was unsure of

So sorry for your loss.. terrible experience for you to go through x

So I'm still hurt over Bandit. But we might be rescuing a Male Guinea pig the owner has no time for him n hes already 5 years old...... so my question is would a male be ok with females during floor play. I will be transitioning then like lil meet n greats to get adjusted

I am so sorry for your loss of Bandit :( In answer to your question, please do NOT put the male with your females for floor play as it only takes a second for accidents to happen

Even though he's fixed? So could I have them floor play in play pens nxt to each other so he sees them

Ok great he's been with a family for 2 years and they had him fixed but they have no time for him anymore and say he's to active at night for them

Will he be in a separate cage to the other 3 guinea pigs?

For now till they all get adjusted to each other. Unless it's not a good idea even though he's fixed

Oh so one bonded I can keep him with them since he's neutered

As long as you only have one male guinea pig living with the females, then it should be fine for them to share a cage .The problem with having more than one male living with female guinea pigs is sometimes they will fight. I used to have a guinea called Ted (he passed away in Feb) and he spent his whole life living with female guinea pigs and I never had a problem, they always got on very well.

Awww I'm sorry. Yes he will be the only male and he is neutered and I just dont want him to be lonely or not have friends to play with so he can have his own herd of females
