I went to P@H today (please don't groan - I just didn't have time to go anywhere else for their spot-on treatment and they are being scratchy!). I always, stupidly, look in the adoption centre. Everyone who has been in P@H will know the adoption section with the tiny depressing little glass tanks. There were 2 single gorgeous boars in there who had been returned by their owners. One of them looked so scared, he was just sitting in the corner with big brown eyes giving off vibes of a world of unhappiness.

I just wish I had the space and the time to take on more piggies - like many of you out there I just want to save them all. I felt so guilty and sad and had a little tear in my eye when I had to walk out and leave them there.

And this is why you should never look in the adoption centre soon after finishing a set of nightshifts when you are feeling tired and emotional!

Aww the poor little guy. That's how I ended up with my Romano. It wasn't from Pets in hell though but another pet shop (didn't know they had guinea pigs).

He was curled up in the corner terrified and wouldn't move. He was so curled up I couldn't see him. He stayed on my mind so I returned a week later and he was still in the same spot.

I got him then and there and now he's my oldest boar still with me today.

I try to avoid looking if I end up there. Luckily I very rarely have to as I don't buy anything from there anymore when I found better hay elsewhere.

I just don't understand people - why get an animal that you then decide you don't want and so take it back to the shop. Why don't they put some thought into what they are doing and make the right decision to start off with! It makes me so cross!

I have never been to pets at home, always got my hamster/GPs from local pet shops, which arent too bad (the ones I've been too). They are in small cages tho and it makes me depressed seeing them in little cages, I just want to rescue them all!

I know for a fact, if i did go to p@h, Id want to walk away with loads of new animals that i cant afford :P. It also annoys me why people get animals and they don't really want them! :(

and this is why I haven't been into pets at home since before I got my boys, it's just too upsetting! :(
