Safe compost for growing grass

Hi

So I grow my guinea pigs grass. I have just planted some more in some new compost. I have since thought I'm unsure if the compost is actually safe. It's john innes levington compost and it says it has 8 weeks feed in it which includes potassium, nitrogen, phosphate and trace minerals in it. It says it's child and pet friendly but I'm wary now due to that fact that if grass has been fertilized your meant to keep guinea pigs off it for a while. Does anyone know if the compost is safe to grow them grass in or do I need to throw it out and start again? Thank you

Hmmm I’m not too sure on that. When my husband puts feed on the grass I don’t put them out for lawn time….

Yes, that's why I'm wondering if it's unsafe. But I can't find any information on it.

All those elements are in the soil in the ground also - if they weren't that nothing would ever grow

It says its child and pet friendly because its been sterilised

Yes I do. I've used compost for growing at home for years

Thank you! I used just plain compost in the past just fine. But when it said it had the 8 weeks feed in it I was concerned.

I just bought some compost - i didn't even check.. I just assumed it would be ok and the grass has started to grow nicely!

I use miracle grow organic and that too is pet and child friendly. Grass grows well in that too.
