I have many cats and foxes that frequent my garden. Is it ok to give my piggies grass if I give it a good rinse first. ? The foxes have mange mites. Can this be transferred on grass? I’m erring on not feeding my piggies on the grass which is disappointing because it’s long and lush

Hi. I’m sure washing it would be fine for getting off the pee but I’ve no idea about mites. I have a dog and so far haven’t wanted to let my piggies out on the grass. I go to a nearby field and cut some then wash it well. But I know what you mean I really want them to graze on the lawn. Dilemma.

If you have other pets, it's often a good idea to build the piggy run on a section of the lawn where it can reside permanently. That way you can leave the grass a few weeks and ensure that no other animal has access to it, At least then you will know that their area is safe from anything that is potentially contaminated by other species. Any run must also be dog proof if you do have dogs and piggies :)
