My boar is currently living in a large fleece c and c cage in my bedroom. The whole room smells of hay and is just overall gross smelling. I have a small air purifier but it doesn't seem to help. What safe anti odor things can I use?

You could try buying a different brand of Timothy hay? I find they all smell slightly different, some nicer than others.

Once they hay is soiled it smells much stronger too. Do you have a hay rack of some kind? You could fill a littler tray with a different kind of bedding (I use a paper based cat litter) and keep the hay off the ground. That could help :)

I use white vinegar to clean out the cage. It's great for getting rid of odour, but I don't know how good it is at prevention, as I've no comparison.

Thanks for the replies. Currently I have a hay bin that he goes into to eat. The problem is that he soils it so quick. I think I will try a hay rack. Any suggestions for one that will fit a C&C?

Yes I used some cute scraps I found cheap in a haberdashery and with a pillow case lining to make it thicker and more durable. I made little loops for it to hang by and hang it with carabiner clips so it can go anywhere :)

I had to hand sew it too so you don't need a machine and it's fairly minimal sewing, I stitched around the hay holes though which was a bit interesting aha but it's doable! :))
