Sage's Eye

I noticed at cuddle time today that one of Sage's eyes is looking a bit off.

Thought I'd ask some advice before booking a vet appointment because Sage isn't keen on being handled and I don't want to cause him any unnecessary stress.



I hope I'm just being paranoid, but is the right eye bulging a little bit? The conjunctiva is a health colour when I checked but I don't think he's had a bulgy eye before so I'm a bit nervous about cysts/overgrown teeth...

It doesn't seem to be bothering him at all but I know they're good at hiding pain. He's not off his food or anything and was popcorning just as much as usual at floor time.

Please just some guidance? I'll re-assess in the morning when I'm a bit less tired and start thinking about vet appointments.

Keep an eye on it and see whether it is more pronounced tomorrow; to be honest, it looks pretty normal to me.

Sometimes slightly protruding eyes in a fairly narrow face can play tricks on you. As things stand, I would not panic.

Thank you for the reassurance, I was hoping I was just being paranoid!

I just remembered Cedric's eye story... made me want to make sure all was ok

I agree to just keep an eye for now, it will increase in size pretty quickly if it is an abscess but it doesn't look like it at the moment. My Tim had the same thing as Cedric and his was a lot more obvious than in your photo.
