Do guinea pigs need a salt lick?

If no, why do majority of pet shops sell them?

If yes, what benefits do they bring and why do guinea pigs need it?

All posts will be greatly appreciated, thank you! :)

If their diet is good, they shouldn't. But pet shops selling them because they like to make monies!

As far as i know there isnt any benefits from having them. Too much salt for humans is bad so would be the same for piggies. The only thing you would really need to supplement is vitamin C. As Doeylicious said as long as their diet is good then there really isnt any need :) I wouldnt bother to be honest

I see! Thank you guys... :)

So no salt lick on my list then. Their diet should be perfect, I have already made a weekly plan of what they will get in the morning and evening which is related to the RateWatchers diet.
