So last Tuesday, I came home from work, and found salt, lying on the caged floor, cold, so I pick him out of the cadge, he had passed away, omg what a shock, he was fine that morning being his outgoing self, poor salt and poor pepper. Have I cried or what, such a shock with it being my first Guinea pigs, so now am looking for another one, I think pepper dealing with it better than iam, but he has started running away from me and won't let me touch him, any tips😢♥️

I’m so sorry for your loss :( Just give Pepper time to adjust to Salts death and hopefully he’ll be back to normal in a day or two. It’s great you are looking at getting him a friend. Sleep tight Salt xx

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s such a shock when they haven’t shown any signs of illness beforehand. Good luck with your search for a friend for Pepper.

Awe thanks ♥️ does any one know how long I should wait until
I get another Guinea pig.

As long as Pepper is eating and not
too upset you can leave it a few weeks. Last November a very young piggy of mine passed and I got my remaining piggy a friend after about 3 days. It all depends on how you feel and how Pepper copes.

Sorry for your loss 😔
I've noticed several times anxiety in bereaved piggies being on their own, and they've gone back to normal with a friend. I think it can be scary for them to feel alone without a same species friend.

That helps a lot thanks♥️👍

So very sorry for your loss.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve.
Holding you in my heart ♥️

I’m so sorry for your loss, sending hugs, it’s incredibly sad when you lose a piggie
Sleep tight little Salt 🌈
