Sandy has recently been treated for mites, 3 x xeno and then 3 panomec injections (confirmed by vet). She has lost about 150g in weight the vets have put this down to the irritation caused by the itchiness/pain etc. She self harmed and caused a fairly big wound which became infected, this was treated with septrin and isoderm gel. This has since been stopped but we are having terrible trouble keeping the weight on her. Her mouth has been checked and as far as the vet can tell there are no problems either with her teeth or sore spots in the mouth. She is being topped up with cc 4 x a day, having ranitidine, fibreplex and metacam. I started her on daktarin oral gel just in case she has a sore mouth. She takes the cc very well as well as eating grass. She will eat a small amount of vegetables then stop almost as if the effort has tired her out. She eats minimal hay when in the cage but if we offer it to her she will readily eat it. Although it has to be the slightly stalkier stuff but she will not touch timothy (it used to be a favourite). Any ideas/suggestions as to what may be causing this. She is having regular check-ups with the vets. She is there again on Tuesday. It's almost her second home at the moment? Next step is a x-ray and a dental check up under g.a Thanks

Hi there,

, could you list the time span at wich theses meds were given
Ie 1x1pipet of xone , syptoms persisted so added 2, then 3rd , was there a gap before panomec?

Its just that theses meds can have somtimes have odd reactions , they are well documented , but little understood

It just needs to be ruled out that that is not the reason for Sandy's weight problem
