I have a five-month old sow named Sasha. She is a beautiful, healthy, chunky pink-eyed white. Well, a little over a month ago I introduced a younger sow named Penelope to her. I believe she was four-to-six weeks old when I got her. I upgraded to the biggest cage I could find, and bought two of everything (water bottles, food bowls, hidey tubes, etc).
Well, for the most part, they've gotten along great. Sasha is by far the dominant one, but they popcorn and play and chase each other at full tilt around their cage. Penelope is the loudest wheeking piggie I've ever heard, so I know she's happy. They've only had one spat, right at the beginning, but no blood was drawn and it ended fairly quickly.
Only thing is, now Sasha will not stop rumbling. She does absolutely nothing to physically hurt or bully Penelope, but she rumbles non stop. All night, all morning, all after noon, all evening. Whenever she moves around in the cage if she isn't playing or eating, she's rumbling. I have never, ever been annoyed by my piggies until the past two days... Sasha WILL NOT stop making the rumbling sound. Is this just a phase, and will it pass? Like I said, she doesn't hurt or bully Penelope, but she just won't stop rumbling. Is this normal?
