My beautiful Satchel passed away in her sleep.8... She hadn't been herself for a few days, sleeping a lot & not wanting to be bothered with, which i respected. Last night i could see her in her bed & tapped for her to get up to see if she would have a piece of pasta, she did get up but hobbled straight back to her bed & so i left her in peace.
This morning i checked on her & she had gone, in her bed, where she was safe. I am devastated she's gone but i am glad she left of her own accord & peacefully.

I am very sorry for your loss. It is hard to stand by and let a beloved pet go.

Oh I am so sorry, that made me cry. I am glad she went peacefully in her sleep. Sweet dreams gorgeous Satchel x

She was 22months but had Cushings Disease which is why she doesn't have much fur on her pic & why i'm glad her last few days & passing were without pain (most hams with Cushings reportedly suffer & usually have to be pts) :(
 
Thank You Everyone for your kind words. Many people underestimate tiny furries & whilst they may be small in stature they make up for it in personality.
I'm so upset & can't stop crying which is madness as i've known this day was coming for some time :(
 
i know how you feel. Alfie went completely without warning, and i still keep randomly bursting into tears. small animal's impact on lives is greatly underestimated by less animal-loving people.

at least she had you, and you obviously loved her an awful lot, which makes her a very lucky little girl. i'm sure she was completely happy with you
 
I'm so sorry for your loss. She looks adorable.
Some days I still shed tears for hammys that I lost 5 or 6 years ago.
RIP beautiful Satchel.
 
Aww, she was so lovely. I'm really sorry Niki but at least she passed peacefully in her little bed and not in an unfamiliar place.

Darling Niki i'm gutted for you, yes you knew her time was limited, but gee she really had a strong hammiesonality 8...8...8...
