Hi everyone,

Can guinea pigs eat Savoy cabbage? Just bought some today for us humans to eat, but was wondering if they can eat it

Yes that's fine. Not too much and no other brassicas at the same time otherwise it might be a bit smelly and gassy :))

Can they eat it everyday and is it high in vitamin c?

I personally wouldn't feed everyday. I give spring greens more regularly but that's a milder form of cabbage. Too much brassicas can cause gassiness so maybe just once or twice a week. Sometimes if I have a veg like that I might feed everyday for 3-4 days to use up and not waste but when I do they won't have it for weeks again

I agree, and do a similar thing with broccolli- if we have it, the piggies might get it in small amounts 2 days in a row, because it needs using up- then no more for a month or so because brassicas often give Ollie pigwig some very smelly special poops! Ollie loves broccolli but it doesnt love him back and his wifepig wont share a hidey with him after a brassica dinner :)

They have never tried broccoli or brussel sprouts
