After losing fudge, crunchie was pretty miserable. I tried and failed a bonding with my other pair poppet and Rowan.. crunchie is such a dominant sow and there where injuries! I then adopted a little baby assuming crunchie would bond with her okay.. I was wrong! Far too aggressive and rough and I intervened before she hurt the poor little mite.

Fast forward to Friday past, crunchie and I took an hour trip to ayr to try and find her a friend. There where a trio of girls that could be split so we had a choice of 3.. I asked to try her with the piggy at the bottom of the pecking order!

Little Dolly is very submissive and crunchie was doing alot of chattering and swaying but after 2 hours they both had a nap and we made the journey home! Crunchie could still calm down a little as she's obviously still asserting her dominance but there's been no injuries and little dolly is settling in well!

Crunchies more active and bright now.. She's never asleep as too busy scent marking and claiming all the cosies!

Here's hoping we don't have any issues

Dolly may keep her name.. as she is a bit of a dolly mixture and it fits with the sweetie theme of my girls! She is short haired but long at the back.. white cream and black with the most beautiful big eyes.

By the way, great to hear you managed to find some piggies in Scotland!

She is beautiful, congrats! I hope all stays well and they become firm friends :)

Well Hello Dolly! She is gorgeous. I'd love to take a run over to the rescue in Ayr. I think they've an open day soon? or have I missed it?
I think it's passed but they welcome visitors anytime. They are great and make the best with what they have. The pigs are all well looked After, even the old piggies at 8+ are chunky and look great!

I am so thrilled for you @Adelle that you've managed to find such a beautiful little companion for Crunchie. Little Dolly has landed firmly on her 4 paws. I hope she realises how lucky she is.

And no you haven't all missed their open day isn't due till October as that's their first birthday. However visitors are always welcomed the times they are open are on their website and Facebook but it's generally open Tuesday to Saturday 9:30am till 3pm. Sundays and Mondays are by appointment only. (I volunteer at Ayr Guinea pig rescue, only usually 1 day a week as I work full time. I would be there every day if I could.)

Thank You! Because crunchie is such a nightmare I was sort of left to my own devices as if there was a problem, the problem would be crunchie! They had a good area of floor to run around on and I took my own hay and veggies for distractions. Xx

Both Dolly and Crunchie are beautiful and make a gorgeous pair. I am so glad it is working out so well after the introes.
Dolly's eyes remind me of Fudge somehow.

You're right, huge eyes like Fudge. I try not to look too much or I'll cry!
