Today i noticed on pixie this scab on her ear, she is only 8 weeks old.
Any advice on what it could be or a cream i could put on to help it heal or even a trip to the vets? Or do i go back to where i had them from and tell them this has happend as the they left a voicemail yesterday asking how they where settling.
Any advice welcomed
As she is so young i wasnt to sure what is ok for them.
Other than this on her she is ok, eating drinking having a run around the cage being quite normal.

That's a fungal infection one of my piggies has that at the moment you can get a shampoo from the vets or else contact the person you got her from and they might sort it out for you hope this helps:)

Thankyou for your advice
I will call where i got them from in the morning and see what they can do :)

Just an update
I've taken pixie to the vets turns out she has ringworm. The vet was helpful advised me to keep an eye on my other piggie as well if she starts displaying symptoms then I can treat them both with the ointment provided

My piggie Arthur had something like that on his ears too. I put vaseline on it and after 3 days it was completely gone.

Well the good news is that you've caught it quickly. Ringworm spores can live on all sorts of things and generally I would dispose of all the bedding (or wash at hottest temperature it will take), give the cage and any other piggie equipment a good scrub with hot soapy water and bath both piggies - I normally use nizoral, but I'm not sure if it is safe at 8 weeks, you may want to check that first. I'm sure someone can suggest an alternative.

People can also catch ringworm, but it's not that common with good hygiene - always wash your hands after handling them and cover any scratches on your hands.

Make sure you inform who ever you got her from, and if it's a pet shop the local council department that regulates them will want to know.
