OUCHIES!
ooooooooh i do hope they can work out what[s up....... has she a cage mate? could they have had a scuffle?
Is the one on her tummy where she could actually bite herself? maybe she's itchy......could be mites maybe?

GOOD LUCK FOR LITTLE ALICE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

no shes on her own at the moment shes only 7 weeks old the scab is off thismorning its like a sore my mum said it look like its healing i havent been able to get to the vets today but if its the same on monday i will take her then ill try nd get a picture later i was on the look out for a friend but shes had a URI and now this so its on hold incase it is mites :(

Does she have any fur loss around the scabs? It could be fungal which is easily treatable

As she is so young, I suggest a vet visit as they will be able to give a proper diagnosis. One of my girls had a fungal infection when she was a baby. She had caught it from her mum whilst still inside the womb.

thankyou the first link you posted the bottom picture looks exactly like her side will deffo be at the vets on monday shes been through so much already just want to get her better so we can find her a friend

Try not to worry about it too much as fungal is treatable. Due to Ena's age (she was very young at the time) friends on here and even my vet suggested I used Daktarin gold. It is a human antifugal cream that can be brought from most chemists. Just pop it on the scabs a couple of times a day and for two weeks after the scabs clear up. If you ask for it at a chemist though, don't say it is for guinea pig treatment and try and use latex gloves if you can when treating.

My vet also prescribed an antifungal shampoo which I bathed all my piggies in but some shampoos shouldn't be used on piggies under a certain age so it is still wise to see your vet.

thanks you i am so worried about her though feel so guilty they can go through so much so glad i didnt let that woman take her back to pets at home does a fungal infection hurt? she has it round her little mouth now

I imagine it can be itchy and the scabs could be sore but I doubt it causes pain apart from extreme cases.

I really do recommend the daktarin gold. It cleared Ena's fungal up with in a week xx

We used Daktarin Gold on Bingo's fungal as prescribed by the vet. You need to wear disposable gloves as it is contagious. I found that applying it with my finger was easy but when my mum did it she found it easier to use a cotton bud.

We had a few problems with the vet not believing us when we said it was fungal so spent valuable weeks messing around with mites treatments. Make sure your vet is cavy savvy.
