My Guineas pig had a litter of babies about 4 weeks ago now, I took the babies to the vets at 4 weeks old and everything was good with them and i was advised to separate the two boys from their mum incase of reproduction, so for the past week my 4 week old brothers have been happy in their cage,

I woke up this morning and went to see them and copper has a white scab over his eye?

Photos attached took them as best I could but he is very wigglingn

I would take him to the vet for treatment as soon as you can as that looks sore and poor Copper will be uncomfortable.

Yes my vets don’t open until 10:30 so I will be phoning them when they open, do you have any ideas what it could be?

Thank you! We adopted two girls who turned out to be pregnant and we had no idea!
So I’m a bit worried that I’m not doing what I need to with the babies as I’ve never had them and I wasn’t prepared for them! We have copper and his brother who were born by our adopted pig mixup and they are 5 weeks old and then another 3 babies from Dumno who are 3 weeks old

So when I seen his eye I started to panic! He’s not bothered by it at all, and he is still running and around and popcorning! It’s more me who was scared!😂

There’s lots of threads on here that you can read for really good advice with surprise babies, I just want to make sure you’ve separated the little boys from mum now because at 5 weeks old they can impregnate her and any sisters they might have

Hi!

Please have him seen by a vet. I agree with @Jaycey that it could be ringworm? Just one invisible spore that has been sitting somewhere can cause an outbreak, especially in the young, the old, the pregnant and the ill and frail whose immune system is not fully working/overloaded. Don't beat yourself up over it. You are obviously a caring and conscientious owner. It can happen to anybody.
Ringworm: Hygiene And Pictures

Good that your vet asked you to separate your boys; the common recommendation is 3 weeks of age because boars start making babies between 3-5 weeks of age, long before their testicles start descending at 3-4 months (which generally signals the onset of the teenage months with its big testosterone spikes.

There was no space at the vets! And when I tried to get an emergency appointment they said I didn’t need one!
Does anybody think it’s worth cleaning with a cotton bud and water?

He should be okay for a few days until you get an appointment, you could clean it but I don’t know how much it would do for him

It looks like it could be fungal. You may well need an oral antifungal, as it's so close to the eye that it may be hard to apply a cream there safely. A lot of fungal infections (like ringworm) are very contagious, so you may want to separate him from the others and be sure to wash your hands really thoroughly (humans can catch ringworm too.) You'll also have to disinfect the living area by replacing the bedding and disinfecting all the hard surfaces. Personally, I would wait for the vet and not try to clean it yourself. Cleaning it is not going to help it clear up, may irritate it, and may make you more likely to spread it around on him or to yourself or other pigs. I would wait on the vet.
