I noticed a smaill scabby patch of skin on top of my piggy’s head - under her long hair. It is whiteish and flaky. Any ideas?

Likely to be a fungal infection. Pop along to the vets during normal opening hours for diagnosis and appropriate treatment

I am worried it may be ringworm- going to phone the vet in the morning

Ringworm is a very common fungal infection. Please have a good read through the forum guide for it and pay attention to the hygiene tips to stop any potential already to humans or any other pets. With prompt treatment you should be on top of it in no time

Thanks, yes. I’ve had a good read. I don’t really want to separate my girls though as I know that April will pine really badly. I think it will be easier to treat both?

I wouldn't separate anyway. Both will have been exposed to the spores already so separation is pointless in my opinion and just adds stress to them both. This is what the guide suggests as well as talking you through treatment for cagemates not displaying symptoms

I have just taken Avril to the vets, he wasn’t convinced it was ringworm and thought it could be just a scab. He took a swab for testing and she has an antiseptic cream I have to apply twice a day.
