I am asking this on behalf of another guinea pig owner that I work with, one off her new guineas had a small scab on his back, the scab fell of naturally and left a small patch of dry skin, any ideas what this could be and treatment.

I will know go and get her to register and say hi.......

Ta, Jeremy...........

P.S. Does any one no a good cavvy vet near Hucknall / Nottingham for future reference ?

Debs has just told me the dry skin is in the center of a rosset and about the size of a pea also another scab is forming under 1 cm away...

Sounds like possible irritation from mites or lice.

Look on www,gorgeousguineas.com for excellent diagnosis advice and treatments.

Hi, these are my 2, I have bathed him in salt water and rubbed some aloe vera to try and sooth

Good advice from Starshine about GG, you can also buy over the counter nizoral or alphosyl for fungal related problems, and prioderm or lyclear for lice.

A good vets in Nottingham is Ruddington Vets, they are reasonably priced too :)
