hi,
as you know i got 2 himalayians last week. well i did see that one was missing a small patch of hair but didnt want to stress her out more.
well i checked on here jsut before and that patch is bigger (was extremely tired and since htey were losing hair from moving) i didnt stress to much cause they were stressing about being moved and into a mansion from small breeding cages.

well that patch as i was saying it bigger and has scaby sores on it. now i just remembered she did say after i paid for the piggies that she did have a skin problem but it was all gone. tbh i dont think she cared that well for them. but that imo.

i took a photo but not very good to show you. blurry.

so any ideas on how to treat it. i know you need to know what it is etc. but an idea.

If its a skin condition its likely to be one of two things

A fungal problem, which will require anti fungal treatment, washing any washable bedding at 90 degrees, cleaning the cage with an anti fungal disinfectant, (hopefully someone experiened will name this brand for me) etc etc etc.

If its a paracite problem, it will need treatment with a specific anti paractite treatment (usually iviromectin? (sp? I always get it wrong)) and still wash high etc.

However If the treatment is wrong (ie for the wrong thing) then the problem will likely be irriated and get worse. So you really need to see a vet to work out which it is. (Mites on guinea pigs are so small you wouldnt be able to see them with the naked eye)
