scales for piggies

I say that as a general rule, if it is digital, goes up in 1g increments and weighs upto a weight more than you need for a pig (mine goes up to 5kg but 3kg would be fine) then any is fine.

Also just personal choice, I like one with a flat platform and a tare function (also sometimes called "add and weigh") so that it will hold any sort of container (I use a big tupaware tub to put the pig into) and so that if you do use a container on the platform you can reset the scale to zero.

Sooo this one is a kitchen scale and seems just right....

Whereas these two are bathroom scales (ie - designed for weighing humans) and are probably not as accurate to the nearest gram as a kitchen scale....

I use the ones that are first on your list. I've found my piggies cheat if I put them straight on so put them in a litter tray first, stops them only putting three legs on!

your welcome...

as I said ... just pop a big tupaware tub on to sit the pigs in (or a litter tray as katiepops suggested)

I used to use a mechanical scale (reading in lb and oz) with piggie-sized bowl on top but switched to digital for the sake of more accurate readings. I agree that kitchen scales are ideal for guins. :)

hahahahahaha, are they worrieda bout their weight?

BTW, I got mine at Lidl, they're digital, you can use them to measure in g and ml for milk and water (very useful when breastfeeding!). Cost me about £7.
