I am new to this Forum, and am here because I lost my beautiful male pig Scamp this morning and I am absolutely devastated, it was very unexpected and sudden, he passed away at the vets this a.m. He is going to be very very sadly missed, he was a character and was very loving and gentle, he has now crossed to the Rainbow Bridge. Play hard my little one and have fun. :08...8...:0
 
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. One of my pigs, who was a real character, passed away unexpectedly at the vets last year so I know how it feels.
 
I am so sorry for your loss. Quite a few piggies pass away without any sign that something has been previously wrong. It is very hard to deal with the shock; I have lost one myself, so I know, too. It will probably take a few days to sink in fully.

How is Scamps mate doing?

Thank you, all your messages mean a lot, I am struggling at the moment and so is my daughter, Sasha is coping I guess, we took her to the vet to say her goodbye and it was heart wrenching as she kept nudging Scamp as if to say, come on wake up, broke my heart seeing her do this, and because she is blind it was all the more poignant, I guess she now knows that he's gone, its so terribly hard, such a small creature, such a big loss. Thanks guys x

I too worry about my blind girl if she looses her mate first.......

i hope that you might be able to find a loving friend for Sasha, whee do have rescues on here that will do boar dating/bonding ........ if you would like some advice please just ask :)

I am so sorry for your loss. It would have been horrible to lose a loved one like that. It will take a few days to sink in. Welcome to the forum.

I am so grateful to you all for giving me the strength and courage to cope with my loss, he was such a dear dear friend and gave my daughter and I endless hours of fun, he was affectionate, grumpy as he got older, but so lovable, he is so badly missed I cant express what I feel, yet another angel in heaven. RIP baby x>>>

Thanks for much, Sasha seems ok, but as she is blind she is always nervous, she seems rather sad and forlorn and is not eating as much - she is normally quite greedy, I feel so hopeless for her, it breaks my heart to see her pining which I think she is, I hope she pulls through as Scamp was her defender and constant companion, they have never been apart for 3 years!

Thank you for your comforting message, it is absolutely dreadful, that sinking feeling and lump in my throat, when I am at work its ok as soon as I go home its so sad as I have to watch his girl Sasha looking really lost and lonely, she is no doubt pining badly as she is not eating much and just sits in one corner, Scamp was very much loved by her and was a constant companion, they were never apart for 3 years, my daughter has taken it hard. Thanks again, much love xx

Hi, thanks for your thoughts, it is so upsetting and even though I have lost pets in the past, this is so raw as it was totally unexpected, he was fine - just ehavy breathing, a trip to the vet and gone!:...:0:(:( it has broken my heart, also because his mate Sasha is blind and confused as she is looking for him and cant find him and is very nervous now, as my daughter is at school and I am at work during the day my heart goes out to her, I hope she pulls through as I couldnt bear to lose her too. xx

Thank you - this is so comforting, I miss the little guy so very much, it has broken my heart, I will always have him in my heart, another angel in heaven, thanks for the comfort xx

Thank you Glynis, the pain of losing him is bad, I am in a bad way especially because his little girl Sasha is alone and because she is blind it must be so confusing for her, she seems to be pining, I hope she will be ok, please pray for her x
 
I'm very sorry to hear you lost Scamp so suddenly. Its heartbreaking losing a piggie..
