I was petting Heisenberg today when I noticed how skinny he is. He's always been skinny but that scared me a lot and I also noticed that he was breathing pretty fast and didn't seem too happy, I thought that it could just be because his friend died yesterday. I rang my local vets surgery to see if they could give me any advice over the phone. Even though they had officially closed they were more than happy to see me which is amazing! They said that he is skinny but not due to a health problem (I don't understand how because he eats soooo much and always has access to food all the time. But they gave me some antibiotics and anti inflammatory to give to him in case he has a small chest infection. Hopefully all is okay with him and he'll be okay

So sorry for your loss. I hope Heisenberg picks up again soon, hugs to you both at such a sad time.

I hope Heisenberg gets better soon! :( I am so sorry for your loss, I hope you are doing okay. x

I hope he's ok! Don't make my mistake, if your new piggy is not from a rescue remember to quarentine him for 2 weeks just in case! With my latest addition I completely forgot and my good friend @Kerrie74 reminded me. Though it's now too late and I hope all will be ok, but for you as its not too late, better to be safe than sorry :-)

Ah bless, I hope he recovers well :) We took one of our boars to the vets last week, he was hooting a bit, it's a URI, he's on meds, that's three piggies on meds! They do like to worry us don't they, but I still love them to bits :)

I was so worried. As soon as I got to the vets they took him through and asked me to sit in the waiting room until I was called in and I was trying y hardest not to cry:bye: didn't want to lose him as well as Darwin. So glad that they said everything seems okay, just the possibility of a mild chest infection so hopefully everything will be fine. Fingers crossed

Glad he has seen the vet. I would wait with bonding your newbie until both pigs have been quarantined and you are certain that both pigs are healthy and he is over his infection.

*update on Heisenberg* I've been continuing with the antibiotics and the anti inflammatory. I offered him some apple today and he turned his nose up at it so I started to panic and found out that they can have porridge to fatten them up. He will eat the porridge but only a little bit at a time which I'm not worried about. He's been munching on hay all day and even just had a little run around:) hopefully he will continue to get better :)

It's good that he is eating hay. Try to weigh him daily (at the same time) to check that he is maintaining his weight.

*todays update on Heis*
He is much better today! He had a run around during lap time and he even licked my hands which he only does when he's happy and he hadn't done it since he lost his buddy. His eyes seemed a lot more alert today too! He's still happily eating the porridge and all his veggies. Hopefully he will continue getting better so I can stop my worrying
