Slightly worried about posting this in case it goes horribly wrong, but I am taking my two separated boars to date a little boar at a rescue on Friday. The little boar seems lovely from pic and description but obviously it is personality that counts:)
Really hoping that one of either Cheeky or Sudoku will bond with the baby boar. Will be so disappointed if we can't take the little one home.

Wish us luck and the little boar - who has to put up with one of my naughty boarsrolleyes

boars eh?
Well bets of luck with it, its a great way to introduce one boar to another.
What will happen with the remaining boar from your pair that doesn't bond with the baby? are you waiting until their is another at the rescue for them too?

Thanks for the good luck wishes! And yes, a couple of rescues felt that their single boars were not right for dating my boys so I will see how this goes round of dating goes and will then be on the look out/waiting for another boar. So started with 2 boys and heading towards having 6..... Think I had better stop then:)

Any tips for settling in a new baby boar IF he comes home with us? I think I will be watching the behaviour like a hawk

Best of luck tomorrow! All fingers and claws crossed for you at this end :)
Looking foward to hearing how it went and hopefully some pigtures if it's good news?!

Just a few hours to go before meeting little boar ......
Boys have had nails trimmed and a stern talk about behaviour ready for their dates :)

Update on dating

Well the boys went dating and we have come home with a little tiny boar called Tea Cake! The dating at the rescue (Camp Nibble in Leeds) went soo smoothly and one of my boars Sudoku seemed to accept the baby boar very well. PHEW:) Thank you so much to Hannah at Camp Nibble for answering all my questions and being very calm!:) Jinnywig will be pleased one of the famous Rod's babies has been rehomed!

Once we came home, Sudoku was a bit more confident in his own surroundings and there has been quite a lot of chasing and rumbling, loads in fact but Tea Cake seems to be coping. He has worked out that Sudoku cant reach him on top of the grass house hidey! They have now gone to sleep.
So exciting but nerve wracking..... And noisy and smelly:)) Sudoku's smell production has reached new levels and lots of bum dragging. Tea Cake is just fab.

Could still go pear shaped I know but going really well so far.....

Tea cake is an amazing name! I'm so glad it went well. Boar dating is a scary but amazing business. So glad it worked for you.

Happy days Sudoku and Teacake!

AWW - great that everything has gone well! Boars can produce an amazing amount of stink for such a small animal, can't they?
Neutered boars meeting a girl for the first time are the same...mallethead:)>>>

Hooray :)) so happy it all went smoothly for you. Love the name Tea cake, bet he is just scrummy to suit his name! Hope all is still going well - and I agree, we need pigtures!

awww so pleased tea cake is settling in well x) can't wait to see some pictures of him in his forever home x

Tea Cake pics!

OK here are some pics - sorry they are a bit dark and fuzzy but best I can manage so far:)....

Aww, thanks for the update and the pics! Really really hope it all works out for you! Teacake is such a brilliant name and he is very handsome indeed!

Finley is a neutered boar and by gosh he made a right stink when he first met the girls - i could smell it in the communal hallway outside our front door :x:xmallethead:red god knows what the neighbours must have thought with that stink and all the rumbling going on!

Oh, I'm so pleased that you have found a friend for one of your boys. :) Thats great news!

Thank you Joanne! It was your suggestion to try Camp Nibble so thank you.

Also the good news is that Hannah helped me to try the other boar, Cheeky with one of her retired older boars just to check he wasn't an asbo pig and it went really well. It seems as if it was just a major personality clash between Sudoku and Cheeky. So Cheeky is now looking for a permanent friend too so I will keep checking your website:)

I shall let you know as soon as I have any potential single boys that may be a match. :) I'm so glad it worked out with Sodoku and Tea Cake, he is a little stunner!
