Hey, everyone! It's been a while!

For those who don't know, my herd currently consists of Bliss, who's large and in charge, her sister Cuddles, their adopted sister Frolic, and lastly Frolic's daughter Tickles, who was born in May.

I know that bananas should be given in moderation, so I only offer the piggies each a mouthful of banana about once a week if that. It's a special treat. Bliss, Cuddles and Frolic loooove banana. It's to the point where if I'm eating a banana, they'll smell it, get all excited and start wheeking for it.

But ever since she was born, Tickles has had a different reaction to bananas. I thought she would grow out of it, but so far she hasn't. When she sees the other pigs all excited for food, she investigates. But as soon as she sees a piece of banana, she sprints away as fast as she can! She does it every time.

Bananas!

Aaaah! Run away!

Why? :P

Do any of your pigs display this silliness?

Timmy was very odd with banana, he did a funny dance, like a horse shying away from something. He does that if I have my perfume on too so I presume he objected to the smell. I persisted and he likes it now (and I save my perfume until I have said goodbye to them and am walking out of the door!)

The girls were like that when we tried basil......I assumed it was the smell? They haven't done it with anything else and seem to like most things. In the end we had to take the basil out of their cage it was causing such a hoo ha!

Crunchie is like this with any acidic fruits.. Including vitamin c tabs if shes poorly... Her face resembles a baby sucking on a lemon! She is horrified by the smell lol

Ha ha ha ha!sorry but this thread is just too funny!

You all have just made my day. :)

I had a hamster who was terrified of dried mealworms and who used to run and hide whenever I put one in her cage. The piggies have not yet displayed any scared behaviour yet...only to me

Wyatt Chirp was exactly the same with bananas, he's two now and has just started to get over the smell and enjoy them!
