My guinea-pigs are fed excel, there's no problems with this food, they don't eat a lot of it though, they aren't very interested in it. Is science selective a better food? I've read the two review threads but I'm not sure whether to stick with excel or get science selective My two guinea-pigs are 1 year old and 4 months old.

My piggies are all fussy ! The two rescue ladies will only eat gerty guinea as thats what the rescue gave them,my two old ladies like harringtons nuggets (formerly wagg ) as they are very small and easy to eat - Bumble will eat anything (especially if someone else is eating it at the time ) and the two new boys seem to prefer the harringtons nuggets as well.

if your piggies are eating lots of hay and plenty of veg they do really need much dry food, whatever the brand. i think science supreme is a nicer food but currently feed excel as it is cheaper, that said i only feed it once a week and they love it, they are mostly on a hay and veg diet. :)

You can get little 350g bags of Science Selective for £1.67 on the Vet Uk website if you wanted a sample pack for them to try. I was given one a while ago and I had two pigs that loved it but no one else was fussed.

My piggies prefer SS to Burgess but my dad picked it up by accident, i won't be putting them back on it as it's labelled as a complete food (not sure if there's two SS or they've 'improved' it) but it's making me wary of giving them veg now etc. so they'll be back on Burgess with lots of veggies.
They're not getting many vegs at the moment, and are ok but squeek for more and i think we'll all prefer veg to the same old biscuits every day
