Very odd, they have been on this for quite a while and usually love it and eat it all up - then two days ago I opened a new bag, they ate the first bowl and then wouldn't touch another bite - in fact today two of them wouldn't eat anything, almost as though they associated the food with not feeling well - so to test them I put them out to see what they did with grass and they tucked into that fine, although it's practically non existent at the moment hence getting them the pellets.
I honestly think there is something wrong with the bag, if one had gone off it, I'd put it down to fussy, but all four, no way there is a reason for it.
Just wondered if anyone else had had any problems?

Mine are all fine as well :) Might try excel with mine though purely because I may have a bladder piggy. All but him liked the JR grainless pellets

have you tried buying another fresh bag from a different store/ or with a different batch code (found printed in black, usually on the bottom or side of the bag)? to see if they will eat it - like you say it may be a dodgy batch.

keep a sample from the bag they dont like & send it away to science selective customer sevices/qc dept tell them that you're disappointed that all 4 of your guineas don't want it & they normally eat it readily its only this bag, give the batch number, best before date & any codes on the bag. (photocopy it & send the original if you like).
say you will have to change brand if they have changed the recipe & that they may need to investigate their quality control procedures if something had been missed out etc, but to just make them aware of it.

if you are nice about it they may send you a new bag or reimburse you the dodgy bag.

i did that with some dog food years ago & they sent a letter of apology & enough vouchers for about 3 new bags, i was very impressed with purina foods.

good luck

I'm def going to send off some of the food for testing, two of them seem nearly OK today but two are still off and not wanting to eat - there was something in the food that upset them, it was more than just them not liking it. It has put me right off buying pellets - never again!

They are still not completely right - I'm so annoyed _ i've never had ill guinea pigs in decades and this food has got all of them off colour - I'm hoping it is just that they are doing the rodent thing of connecting food with not feeling well and so they are suspicious of all food - the two worst affected even turned their noses up at broccoli today - unheard of!
the only food they seem to trust is grass, and they won't take my word for it that there isn't any at this time of year!
