Hi everyone :)

My other half rubbishly bought home P@H nuggets for our piggies last night - I've told him not to but he forgot!

I want to purchase either Science Selective or Cavy Cuisine and I just wanted to know which one you think would be best for two boar piggies - one we suspect is about 14 weeks and the other no more than 20 weeks.

Gilles is 316g and Banana is 454g, but I know they have to be on a slightly different nugget as "babies" compared to adults.

Also, where is the best place for purchasing pet supplies online? I've had a look at various different sites but I'd really like to support a local petstore, unfortunately there isn't a wealth of them around here and I'm a bit housebound at the moment.

Thanks in advance x

Animed and vetuk are very good. I can't help you on the "what to feed" front though as I don't feed either of those. I've never tried CC and my piggies wouldn't eat SS.
I feed Burgess Excel Guinea Pig with Blackcurrant & Oregano and they love it. Its a good price too.

xx

Cavy Cuisine is better nutritionally and Guinea Pigs find it delicious, hence the name :p Cavy Cuisine can be purchased on the Hay Experts website along with other Oxbow products and most other Guinea Pig supplies :)

Thank you - is the Cavy Cuisine suitable for baby piggies? I read about it and it talked about alfalfa-based pellets which I think are more suitable for babies?

Both are suitable, I gave my piggies the alfalfa ones when they were younger. :)

In addition to the normal cavy cuisine, Oxbow also do cavy performance which is the food with alfalfa and suitable for young piggies. I feed my gang a mix of cavy cuisine and burgess excel (standard pellets), they happily eat both but love the CC. The best price I have found is PetSupermarket http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/pr...=resetsearch&gclid=CMXq0ciZgbICFUVTfAodQTYA0w but if you can't get it there then The Hay Experts also stock Oxbow products (not sure if they do the performance though) and their customer service is fab.

Thank you so much for your help - I couldn't see the Performance on Hay Experts, so I will get it from the link you provided. Many thanks x

No probs, glad to be able to help. I've used Pet Supermarket several times, their Oxbow hay prices are also very competitive and you generally get free delivery which is a great bonus. Even when they have been out of stock, items have generally come through very quickly.

My boars love Cavy Cuisine, and I also get it from Pet Supermarket. At the moment it's around £15 for a 4.5kg (with free delivery) which lasts my three boys weeks :)

I feed two of mine Cavy Cuisine as they wouldn't eat any other nuggets!
I buy mine from Pet-supermarket, I also buy them Oxbow Orchard Grass but they have that as a treat now and then as its expensive!
