Has anyone ever heard of using these for guinea pigs, especially skinnies to stop them scratching themselves & drawing blood. They're meant for cats but when I collected 3 guinea pigs to bring to my rescue yesterday including Millie the skinny. She had these on her back toe nails, at first I thought she'd had her toe nails painted :) x 20pcs Pet Dog Cat Nail Paw Claw Caps Cover Protectors Scratch Stopper S/M

Millie's foot 2015-10-11a.webp Here's a picture of Millie with them on her foot. She had these on when she arrived yesterday & there's no sign of them coming off. She does have the remains of a sore patch on her back where she was scratching but this has almost healed since her previous owner put these on her :) x

Thats looks very familiure , seem to remember somthing along those lines ,
Good idea? Not sure what l think . :hmm::hmm:

I would imagine the nail preperation to get them ready for the caps would be a nightmare for the poor piggy having them fitted :soz:

I asked her former owner & she said just normal nail clip is sufficient before fitting. As her back is now healed I'm going to remove them as they're not needed now. I'll monitor the situation to make sure she doesn't start scratching again :) x

How peculiar! I have a skinny, Godfrey and when he was a baby he was always scratching his head and making himself cry, seems to have grown out of it now though.
