Congratulations!

They look like beautiful piggies and the one in the first picture looks very cheeky, which I love! Good luck with them :)

Boys or girls?

What about Coconut and Mango?

Thanks for the comments:D cheeky xP Anything special I have to do? Because I think they're very stressed...were jumping around when I was putting the food dish in.

CONGRATULATIONS!

If they were jumping around when you put the food dish down they were most likely just very happy and popcorning :)

Has the boy been neutered? If not he will make his girlfriend pregnant constantly and you will end up wit A LOT of guinea pigs...

CONGRATS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh yes i hope he's been neutured :{
They're sooooooooooo soooooooo cute x)x)
Tell me which is which please..............goes off to piggie nap ;):))

I mean jumping around to avoid my hand :( I think I did something wrong....hehe...I won't mind having a lot of babies but won't the girl one get like um...fat?

Maybe they're still wary of you, that will happen for awhile, you'll just need to quietly and patiently get them to trust you.......it takes time just be patient :)
Yes the girl will end up being quite 'pear' shaped.........how old are they? cause it may not be the best idea at all! Too young or too old can affect the mummies health and the mini's health :(

You forgot to tell me which one is the girl and which is the boy :)

They are about 4-6 months old...Oopsie, I didn't ask which is male or female..but I know they are male and female..lemme ask the seller

She will very soon if he is not neutered. Girl piggies can get pregnant agin as soon as they have given birth and pregnancy on pregnancy will be very hard on her body... If you do get one litter (which is likely now that they have shared a cage, piggies are VERY fertile) , please consider splitting them up in girls and boys to prevent more breeding.

Piggie litters can be anything from 1 to 8 babies and the girl is pregnant for about two months. In a year that makes A LOT of babies...

Nah If don't feel doing that to their private parts....anyways I just texted the seller, he should reply soon enough. BTW may I know how old should they be to breed?

Also, not all pregnancies are straightforward and you may end up with a very poorly mumpig and lots of vets bills. Recently a very lovely young pig in very, very experienced hands died as a result of birth complications :( . Also, would these 2 be brother and sister if they're the same age from the same breeder... that would be another thing to consider re breeding..inbreeding

You could look into getting the boy neutered and housing them side by side until he's no longer fertile and then popping them back in together so they still have all the fun of being a piggie pair without having putting all the strain on her little body. :)

They are a beautiful pair though and I hope they have a wonderful life in their new home :)

Okay...can I sperate the cage into half with some wire? Then they won't be so lonely

Yes you can, but you'll still need to take them to an exotics vet to make sure that the little girl is not pregnant.
Speak to the person you got them from, find out which is which, IF they're brother and sister..........then let us know
But mean time i'd separate them anyways, it wont hurt and they'll still be able to chatter and see each other x) just give them both a water bowl and food bowl :)

They look like gorgeous piggies but of course they will be nervous of you at first. They are in a new environment with a new owner, just give them time and bribing with food never hurts :))

I have to say it seems very irresponsible of the seller to give you a male and female, it's likely that she will already be pregnant. Are they brother and sister? This can cause problems (in-breeding). Babies might look cute but they can be hard work and expensive so make sure you really think about it and if you have the space, time and money to look after them all properly.

Have fun with your new piggies.

Okay...they are probably brothers and sisters.Erm you mean they can't breed?

They will but it can cause deformities or other problems. Look up in-breeding.

You will get more if neither piggy is neutered. But because mum and dad are related the babies can have problems.

Okay then I think I'm going to neuter them, I'm just not sure if this is available in M'sia

Please do not breed from your guinea pigs. Not only because they are brother and sister but because breeding can be very dangerous especially when you dont know what your doing. There are lots of unwanted piggys in shelters, so breeding only adds to the problem. Your piggys are very cute! X)

It would not be good to breed them. Better to save ones from bad homes than add to the problem. Pregnancy is hard on her and she might die. Please don't breed, even people who think they know what they are doing often get overrun and need rescuing. I know baby pigs are lovely but save some, don't breed your own and risk the health of the ones you have. Are you quite young if you are still at school? Separate them please then have a really good think about what this will mean for the pigs.

Don't forget too love that we promote rescue piggies on here and not breeding........
I do hope you're little girl is not pregnant cause if that's her brother as everyone has said you'll have some problems and that would be so sad for the mummy and the little mini's :( I would've thought the person you got them from would've been more informative and let you know what problems could arise :(:{
Now if it seems things have 'happened' let us know and start up a thread in pregnancy and all our wonderful experienced people on here will help you thru, tho as i said before you need an exotics vet, or at least a vet who understands piggies :) You could always take any info you get from here to your vet to help too :)

Marvin,

I hope you don't feel like everyone is trying to bully you into not breeding. I think there are a good number of people on here who are not personally *completely* against breeding - but it's something that needs a huge amount of thought and experience as well as the support of an excellent vet (and the availabilty of lots of money to pay them!). Also, this is a pro-rescue board so you'll find that lots of people on here are just a bit surprised to hear someone say they're thinking of breeding any pigs, nevermind ones who are brother and sister... People are just trying to make you rethink as soon as possible to minimise the chance of your little ladypig getting pregnant, if she's not already.

I'm sure I'm not the only one on here who's really impressed that you're willing to take such a lot of advice onboard in such a small amount of time - you obviously want what's best for your new additions and I hope you see that that's all we're interested in too... making sure that your new GPs are all healthy and happy as possible and that you have a wonderful time getting to know them and learning their personalities!

Any more thoughts on names? They're very beautiful looking piggies so deserve very lovely names indeed!

Keep us posted!

Okay I won't :) She probably isn't pregnant. Maybe I get them to a vet at Saturday:))
I would've thought the person you got them from would've been more informative and let you know what problems could arise
Well I wished he was, too! Well the three books I read didn't say anything about breeding bro and sis or maybe I over looked them.

Sorry went to log off........rather tired and have a darn cold grrrr

I'm sorry you'd not been advised properly, it's not your fault at all........you've done the right thing by coming on here and asking advice, WELL DONE xx>>>
Let's cross paws that she's not, i do hope you can go to vets on saturday for your peace of mind too! :)

Why don't you put up a poll with some suggestions of names or ask people to suggest and help you name your little darlings? :)
It's easy to do, start a new thread and go by the prompts........i'll be going now, but will check in when i wake up tomorrow, bye for now
