I have found these seed pods in a bag of hay. Has anybody else found these? I have swapped out all of this hay from the cages & given hay from a completely fresh bag, different manufacturer etc. Can anybody ID them? I have an idea they may be some kind of veitch?

A vetch (Vicia) of some sort was my first thought when I saw the title of the thread, it just seems the mostly likely thing to find with obvious seed pods in meadow hay. They could be from a vetchling or pea (Lathyrus) though as someone else suggested. Meadow hay should be expected to contain a mixture of plant species and it's not unusual for different plants to be found in other types of hay. Vetches can be toxic when fed in large amounts.

I should have said plants from both the genus Vicia and the genus Lathyrus should be considered potentially toxic. :)
