I have noticed in last couple of days George manages to selective feed whilst on P@H nuggets. They come in two shapes long ones and rounds ones. They are both the same stuff and taste the same but for some reason george doesn't like the round ones!

I think he has only just started doing this but there are definately only round ones left when I come to feed him again the next day! I am probably wasting 50% of the food. I have another big new bag as got one free with my new cage so is he going to have to stick with it for a while. I think I'll change him onto Science selective as all the pieces seem to be identical. My Tiger has actually started eating this too so will be easier (Tiger has so far refused to eat burgess or p@h complete foods).

Does anyone else have piggies who do quirky stuff like this :)) ?

my piggies have seemed to go off the pets@home nuggets will try them on the science selective.
my indoor pigs like the wagg guinea pig crunch cheapest place to buy it is sainsburys

Lol - aw, funny how he doesn't like the round ones.

It's been a long time since I bought the P@H ones but I don't remember them being different. Mine get Burgess Excel at the moment but think they'll be getting some cheap stuff from Macro next time I'm in getting cat litter. It's made from the exact same ingredients but only half the price.

Macro sounds like a good plan. My mum has a card so will have to persude her to take me. Need to get through about 1 & 1/2 2.5kg bags of P@h stuff on george first (who only eats about 20/25gms per day!

Can you not just try not topping up his dish and leaving him to see if he'll eat the round ones? I have noticed they now come in different shapes but it's the same thing! Bless him :)

If you try them on Science Selective, then they wont eat anything else.

Mine are all on it now. Off the Gertie which I fed for years.
I try a little Wagg or Pets At Home nuggets to supplement them but guess what? Which bowl is emptied completely? ... the Science Selective!

They love it! :):):)

I use the burgess pellets with all the ones that come through here and have no problems. I have not used the science selective so could not comment but if you contact burgess and explain the situation they will send you a free sample to try. I believe science selective will do the same.

Hope this helps

Will start feeding him less I think :)) hopefully it will work out him and tiger now live together and it is worse as noone will eat any of the P@H stuff! I am going to gradually feed them less and less science selective I think as they have started throwing the P@H out of their bowls (naughty monkeys).

i started off with gertie guinea pig food but it is quite expensive and i can only get it from a shop miles away, i tried wagg crunch and they just would not eat it! they are now on burgess nuggets but they werent too impressed with that at first. They have now learned if they dont eat it they dont get anything else lol

I have some burgess nuggets too which I got free but they are not fans! I think problem is me not them! They are spolit rotten & get away with murder! I'm going to have to start being a mean mummy & saying no more science selective til you've eaten those rubbish P@H ones! he he :))

yep thats exactly what you have to do, i bought a big bag of wagg crunch but since they didnt like it i just went right back out and got them some Gertie! Now i am putting my foot down and they will eat what they are given and like it! we spoil them far too much!

Wagg Optimum Premium Guinea Pig Food is what mine are on, my local WCF does 10/15kg sack but when I was in Tesco they had the 2.5kg bag on offer for £1.50each :)):)) ! I checked the dates and no where near the BBE date so I bought as many bags as they had lol

mine love the nuggets they only have a small bowl as extra where do you get science selective from? although i think ill just stick to the tesco one that they all love.

don't get science selective they love it and you will never be able to feed them anythiny else! :)) It's made by supreme foods and website contains stockists. You can get a free sample to test on them by clicking on the contact us link and e-mailing them just ask them for a sample to try and remember to confirm your address!
