Hi I’m new to piggy world. I was just wondering which foods you guys feed you piggies? I tried seletive non (grain free type), Haygates, Asda’s own. I’m not feeding the new grain free selective had anyone tried these are they better than others? I’ve been recommended the county value also, and I have noticed it has low calcium too?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Mine get lots and lots of hay which is the major part of the diet.
I’ve just switched to Selective grain free pellets which I mix with a little guinea pig muesli.

Mine have never been wildly keen on pellets but I think they do seem to prefer the grain free ones

Velvet loves her pellets! As soon as breakfast is served she's there! In fact as soon as she hears me say "breakfast time" she's there at the bowl looking hopeful! I'm sure she'd live on pellets if I let her.

Mine get science selective but not grain free. I buy a 10kg bag at a time and wouldn't want to go back to a couple of kilos at the time

Yes I have thought about putting some mix in but didn’t want them to just pick out those bits?

i’ve tried the country value fruity nuggets and although the pigs liked them, they have artificial colours and flavours & molasses so i won’t be feeding them again

I want to change mine from Pets at Home, not that they eat a lot of those but I mixed them with Science Selective for a month and they still wouldn't touch the SS unless they had nothing else left. I just want to stop shopping at P@H now that I don't get their hay.
I'd rather get something closer to their natural diet, something based on hay like Rosewood Meadow Menu even though it's pricey... IF they will eat it!

As mentioned earlier I changed mine from P@H to Harringtons and all 5 love the Harringtons.

Mine love the science selective grain free. I put their pellets in in the morning at about 7.30 and by the time I get home from work at 5 they have hoovered them all up.

Yes my girls too to. It’s no cheap mind I just wasn’t sure if it worth the extra money or not? I’ve heard that they replace the grain with veg so I’m guessing that’s better surely?

The grain free science selective are a good quality nugget :)

I give mine selective grainless. One of my pigs doesn’t seem to interested but the other will hoover them all up in about 10 minutes! Not cheap- but it’s worth it!
