self medicating metacam for yet another suspected UTI.. please help

please help😭
need some advice on giving metacam to my girl della, have just watched her cry while weeing yet again😭😭

she was given 0.3ml dog metacam last time 2xs a day but this was once morning once evening, 8am/pm. if i give her 0.3ml now (2.20pm) should i give her more today or should i wait till tomorrow to re-start the 8am/8pm doses. got a vets appointment booked monday evening, this was the closest one i could get.

i’m at the end of my tether i literally don’t know what to do, my anxiety and stress levels are completely through the roof please if anyone else has / has had pigs with reoccurring utis / bladder issues please please can i contact you🙏🏼😭
 
If she was mine I would give the metacam now, then as late as possible tonight, then go back to your old routine. My RB bladder piggy was on 0.6ml twice a day which is very high, for a long time and was OK. When you see your vet I would discuss whether to increase the dose.

thankyou very much! so it wont be dangerous to not leave a 12 hour gap between all the doses?

All I can say is that from my experience i had a piggy who was on twice the dose as yours is, she weighed a little over 1kg. So by that reckoning not waiting 12 hours to give a second dose would be ok. Obviously I cant tell you what to do tho.
I know hiw horrible it is hearing them cry. If you are worried about giving too much metacam and she isn't crying too much of the time then maybe weight an other 2 or 3 hours and give her some then and then again in the morning. I think the effects last a bit more than 12 hours.
 
so 3pm she has been given her first dose, should i aim for an equal time between 3pm today and 8am tomorrow, so 11.30pm tonight will be the safest time to give her the next dose?

oh of course, thanks so much for sharing your experiences and what you did with your pig, i’m hoping someone else may be along with their input in a bit too to help me decide!
