Hey all,

Back again.
Juniper has ongoing dysbiosis from antibiotics in January.
Ive made many posts over the year and you have all been great.

Had some very positive improvements which I will share, but mostly here for advice on diet.

Shes eating her poos again. For the first time since her URI, shes eating poos consistently, and the poos stopped smelling disgusting. Her weight reached 860grams last night which is the highest since her illness, although its back down to 818 this afternoon.

Shes had 3 weeks of zero veg, course hay, burgess excel pellets and vitamin C supplement treats. However, last night I thought id give her a very small piece of yellow bell pepper to see how she woukd do and its upset her stomach again :( my fault, I should have been more careful. Breaks my heart, she gets so stressed when Fig gets salad, even if shes in a different room, she smells it on her.

I am starting to worry she may never be able to tolerate veggies in her diet again. If I have to keep her off veggies, will she be ok if I supplement Vitamin C through pellets and Vitamin C supplement treats?

The vet didnt seem worried at all when they checked her last monday, and said to keep her on this diet and to not worry about the Vitamin C stuff as the diet is supporting her. But permanently? How do I tell Juniper? Shes going to be devastated 💔

Thanks again, love this community a lot

Aww poor Juniper. I think if she cannot tolerate veg, and you can supplement with vitamin c I would stick with the veg free diet. Hay is of course the most important part of the diet and it sounds like she’s eating this really well which is great.

Could you give her a special treat at veggie time, when Fig gets veggies? Something really nice she only gets then…
