Delilah is a 1.4 year old sow, never had any issues until about 3 months ago when I started feeding Oxbow urinary support supplements. All my other 9 pigs are fine with them but Delilah always gets loud stomach rumbles and soft poops after eating one, so therefore she will not get the urinary support supplement any more, which is a little sad because she loves them, it'll be hard not giving her anything whilst the others all get their morning supplement. Oxbow do make a digestive support supplement which I'm considering buying just for her so she can have that whilst the others have urinary, but I've not used this before or heard opinions from anyone that has, all looks good in writing but I'd like to hear actual opinions from people and pigs that have tried them.

Digestive Support - Oxbow Natural Science | Health & Hygiene | The Hay Experts

I've taken Delilah to the vet and they said there doesn't seem to be anything seriously wrong, it just seems to be a mild sensitivity to something in the supplement and obviously has advised to remove it from her diet, I've also been giving her fibreplex when she has an episode and that works a treat. Are they right that she's just a sensitive piggy or could something really be wrong here that we're missing? She doesn't get bloated or off her food either.

Thank you!

I am far from being an expert, but it does sound like she is just sensitive to one of the ingredients in the urinary support tablets.

Maybe you could offer an alternative like a pea flake when the others have their tablets?

My girls love the Digestive support tablets. I'm not sure how effective they are but it's a nice treat for them as I haven't been able to give them regular veggies recently due to their digestive issues. For the moment you could take Delilah out of the hutch whilst your other piggies are getting their urinary support tablets, and give her a piece of pepper or something so that she doesn't feel left out.

I'm actually very interested in pea flakes for the pigs, I know lots of people use these as treats, do you know if they're healthy and how many roughly could a piggy have per day?
