Going to book a spay for Lightning with Simon Maddock. Think I'd better take Shadow with us, as it'll be at least a 12 hour day and the last time Shadow was alone 3 years ago, she was hysterical.

I have a good size carrier. Can she go in with her post op sister going home, or need to go in separate carriers? Journey home could be 3 hours or worse, if M1 is against us....

Shadow can be an intolerant boss pig, but she's not vindictive.

Last time I took a paw holder to the vets when one was having an operation I took a spare carrier just in case. The vet advised on collection it was okay to keep them together but if you have a spare I would take it.

I've never even thought about a spare 🙈 I have a spare I've just always put them in together, great idea if needed though! Best of luck with the spay!

Thanks. I have a small spare. Boss pig wouldn't be impressed lol. But good to hear a vet thought ok to be together. That's my gut feeling too.

Mine stayed together and came home in the same carrier when Phoebe and Jemimah had their spays. I didn’t even think about a spare.

Hope all goes well for Lightening

Bring a spare if you can, just in case something doesn't quite go to plan.
Normally the company helps a lot.

For Shadow not having the op and potentially spending 12 hours in a carrier, could I let her loose to have a play in the car while we wait for Lightning having her op?

My vets have pens the companion is left in a pen while the patient has their operation. I've always assumed this is what all vets do, I could be wrong!
