I had to take my Billy to the vet again last night because he had a huge, sort of oozy, red wound and I noticed another similar wound this morning - both boys are currently being treated for mites so it's likely that he did this to himself, biting his skin to itch or, as the vet suggested, Bobby is grooming Billy in the areas where he has flaky skin from the mites. However, Bobby doesn't have anything like this and he quite boisterous, he always jumps on Billy and pushes him round and while he may be playing I think it might be too much while Billy has these cuts.

Do you think i'm making the right decision by putting the boys in separate cages, but putting them close together so they can both hear each other still? Bobby seems OK with it at the moment and he's running/jumping round fine and Billy is quite quiet (he normally is anyway)

Thanks for your advice

Sammy

I would suggest swapping cages at least every day so they remember the other guy's smell.
