We always have the girls out for a cuddle in the evenings and generally my Mum will hold one and then i will hold the other. Then we swap over.
I have noticed that one of my pigs Paislee squeaks when she isn't near the other one Phoebe. She starts off quiet but then gets louder and louder until we let them sit together again.
Is this normal, that she wants to be near her sister?. They are still babies really. But are they actually distressed or are they sort of wanting to be together just because?
The funny thing is its always Paislee who squeaks for Phoebe, whereas Phoebe never squeaks back to Paislee.

Some young guinea pigs can't cope on their own and will squeak for their friend. Paislee will get used to being on her own eventually, when she is more at home and used to the routine.

We try to take them out every evening to get them used to us and being handled. Hopefully over time they will get used to being away from each other.
Its funny cos sometimes Paislee will squeak for Phoebe and she will be right next to her but she doesn't look for her, she just squeaks! :)

I had one of them once as well! rolleyesrolleyesrolleyes

Mine did that when they were young. What's surprising is that they sound quite loud normally even though they are squeaking with their mouths shut - when they are really worried (or hungry!) they can open their mouths and squeak REALLY LOUDLY.
When smokey used to do this, his ears would flick with every squeak.
