So my two pigs Arlo and Fergus have been fighting more then usual for the past month or so and I have just decided to separate them. It started with lots of yawning and chatering then moved on to Fergus lunging at Arlo, then some little fights with no injuries.

Then the other day i saw Fergus bullying Arlo (keeping Arlo cramped in a corner not really leting him move or do anything) the bullying went on for about a hour then I came in and stoped it.

Then earlier I saw a fight starting and Fergus started with chasing Arlo and when Arlo stared to fight back a little Fergus stared pulling out hair, lots of lunging and trying to bite really aggressively. That was when i stoped it and separated them. No one got hurt but I think that they would have had it continued.

Arlo has turned two recently and i think Fergus is about two as well and they have a huge 5×3 c&c with a petshop cage add on that is a bit smaller than a 2×3 so they have heaps of room and I'm just wondering what to do next.

Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear this, it sounds like you have a great size cage for two piggies, do they have two of everything e.g. two houses... two food bowls?

Keep them separated overnight and try a re-introduction on neutral ground tomorrow. Boars can experience hormonal spikes but adult boars generally go back together without problems if their relationship is stable and overall balanced.

If Arlo is perking up noticeably when away from Fergus, then you have to consider bullying. I would recommend to have him vet checked in case the bullying is linked to a developing health problem.

Please take the time to read the guides that @sport_billy has linked in. They discuss the issues in much more detail.

Thank you for all the help. I think I am going to try a reintroduction later today and also get them both vet checked just to make sure here are no health problems causing this as @Wiebke had suggested. If the reintroduction doesn't work then i will be keeping them separately as this is probably the best option for Arlo because he perked up so much when i separated them. Again thank you so much for all your help i really appreciate it.

If Arlo is perking up a lot, then you are dealing with a case of bullying and a relationship that is not working, unfortunately. All the best; I hope that it is just this. :(

Just a question if Fergus wants to be back with Arlo but Arlo doesn't want to be back with Fergus what should i do? Because Fergus has been bar chewing as he wants to get back to Arlo but Arlo is ignoring Fergus and keeping his distance.
