I am not sure.will have to find out from Anne. It may not be because it is a human drug,and the drug companies do not like human drugs to be used for gps.A lot of the vetinary drugs are exactly the same as the human ones anyway but are more expensive.I think it is called rip off!.
 
I am going to the vet on Thurs to see if we can get to the bottom of one of my sows rattily chest.

Someone previously recommended Septrin but i am not sure if my vet would approve.

I did read somewhere that Sudafed could be used?
 
I actually don't think it is licensed for piggies, but then neither is Ivomec (the brand of ivermectin most vets use). Sudafed is not a substitute for an antibiotic, however, and must not be used on its own to treat a URI unless advised to do so by a vet. It's a decongestant. Seeing as most URIs are caused by bacterial infection it won't do much other than move the congestion around without treating the cause.
