He said it will be difficult to see down there as they have narrow throats and once they are incubated theres not much room for anything else.

Its really our only hope of finding out whats wrong with her though :-\

Thanks for the kind post, i feel sick worrying about tomorrow x

Fingers and paws crossed here for you. :smitten:

i didn't mean to worry you, hoping all goes well and that they find out what's wrong with serena. wish i could wrap you and serena into a big bear hug! good luck and sending hugs, good vibes and healing vibes your way. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: try to keep yourself busy tomorrow and dumb statement but try not to worry! am thinking of you both. good luck! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: the girls send serena :-* :-* :-*

hello, is there any news on serena yet? have been thinking of her and hopong all is going well and they have found the cause of serena's problem. sending you both hugs and cuddles, will look for an update later. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

She came through it ok and is happily munching away with the others.
However she still has the rattle when breathing.
I will be speaking with the vet who carried out the examination tomorrow as he wasnt there when i picked her up.
I have a feeling it could be a tumour, if it was a piece of food or something then he would have removed it.
:'(

So good news that she survoved the GA, i will update tomorrow once i have been for the consultation with the vet :-\

Thanks for the concern :-*

Hope she will be ok, sending her get well wishes :smitten: :smitten:

she could have the rattle due to the GA and it might still be a little irriatated(sp) just wait till you speak to the vet, though i am surprised the vet didn't leave a message concerning serena at the desk. our vet usually does. will send hugs and prayers to you both and pray all is well. will check in again tomorrow. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: easier said than done as i know but try not to worry! :smitten:

Good luck with that.

I firmly believe that a competent vet can anaesthetise a guinea perfectly OK.

I never doubted him for a minute but still didnt stop me worrying about my little girl!

I doubted some of the vets at this surgery but i finally saw the good one ;D

Hi sweetie i'm so sorry to hear about little Serena :'(
I found from experience that quite often even after the GA our little guy has a rattle, i was told it's because they've got them on their little backs to do the exam and this can cause the airways or something to get blocked and i found after about 2 days it just went away....
Healing wheeks and loves from us both :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
Postive vibes coming your way as well O0 O0 O0 O0

Really glad she's come through it well. sending big hugs and healing vibes her way :smitten:

Just to clarify she had the GA to find the cause of the rattle!
Her breathing did sound different for a while after i picked her up however.
Ok i spoke to my vet this morning, he said that Serena has thickening of the throat. And there is something partially obstructing the back of the throat, however he said it was difficult to see as she is so small and her throat is already narrowed.
He said that it may be a tumour but again he isnt 100% sure, on that basis he feels an operation would be fairly risky.

As she is not showing any signs of illness or distress we have decided to let her live out her remaining time (however long that may be).

So she is now my special needs piggie whos veg will be chopped slightly finer.

you have just bought tears to me eyes reading you post. :'( :'( :'( hoping serena has many more happy healthy years with you! do me two favours? one give her a special hug and kiss from me and two could i see what sweet serena looks like? :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:sending so much love and cuddles to you and serena, again hoping you'll be together for a long time yet! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: she is a little fighter! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:hugs and cuddles from me and the girls. :-* :-* :-* :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
